Talking About Your Trades Is Not a Good Idea

As a rule I don’t often talk about by trades. The main reason for that is I’ve found talking about a trade influences it. Random Catch-Up

I just read the latest Gleason Report and thought it may be time to catch up on some suggestions I’ve made recently. Many people, especially North American readers will find the Gleason Report confronting, as he discusses the end of an empire, fiat money and a global redistribution of wealth.

Telstra Looks Like a Strong Buy

While it is way to early to be calling a bottom in anything I find Telstra very attractive at current prices. The current yield is around 8.9% and held within a Self Managed Super Fund that translates to over a 10% yield.

Nice bottom! An exploration of P/E

There remains way to much focus on calling a bottom and looking for signs of a market bottom based on historical analysis. While it is important to be versed in the market’s history and use that knowledge as a rough guideline, my focus is on the here and now.

Wow! That was an interesting experiment. One little mention of ethics and sustainability and a third of my subscribers head for the hills. I might be reading too much into it, but it does seem like my views on those topics upset one third of subscribers enough to make them unsubscribe to my feed.
I wonder if mentioning Jon Stewart and The Daily Show will get rid of another third?
I’ve been looking into Guinness Peat Group GPG.AX. It appears undervalued and discarded.
How about that GE? I think it is my fastest …

Do Ethics Have a Place in Investing?

My morals aren’t like a hat that can I toss on the hallstand when I come inside out of the sun to invest. When I invest I believe I am buying part of a company and am providing my company with part of the funds they require to carry on their business.

Leucadia National Corp. (LUK) 2008 Report

OUCH – Fools Rush In
In my last article on Leucadia (LUK) I said “Cautious investors may prefer to wait until after the anticipated earnings announcement between 27-Feb and 6-March as any major disappointment would result in a short term sell-off.” If only I took my own advice.
