Investment U Still Pimping for Oxford Club

January 12, 2010 11:03 pm by Dean Morel

I’m not sure what the relationship is between the Investment U and The Oxford Club, but their email today tickled my fancy. Like most people I skim read a lot. What follows is the message I got when reading today’s email.

If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. And if you needed any more proof … take a look below.

…this could spell the end for the American energy crisis… And gains of as much as 1,099% for this tiny company.

That was not meant to be their message, it’s just what I read.

Yes, The Oxford Club is still spruiking ITC Holdings Corp. I’ve been meaning taker a deeper look at ITC, but it’s school holidays and my kids have other plans for me. What I find hard to believe is that this sort of crap accuracy, 1,099%, actually works. It must, as I’m sure these guys are excellent marketers. Does anyone know the people behind Investment U or The Oxford Club? Are they connected? Is the aim to sell a subscription or to pump a stock they already own? Does anyone know their track record?

I used to find the Investment U emails worth reading, but lately they’ve really been amping up the sales pitch and marketing. I guess fools and their money are easily parted if marketing lines like the following actual work. It make me wonder if these companies are thinly veiled scams.

But we’ve uncovered a way you can get started with as little as $50 and potentially turn it into as much as a $204,100 windfall.

Update: A quick check shows that Investment U is part of The Oxford Club, it’s their foot in the door. I guess I’m just slow, for not working that out before.

You seem to have gotten no negative feedback just as the other gentleman who inquired. I would like to know why you think that tracking insider trading is a bad way to invest in the market. I know when I worked for IBM and and was privy to announcements I certainly purchased stock and it worked every time. What is wrong with letting someone else do the leg work for you for a one time price of 5K. It seems like an outstanding investment to me. Can you please explain why you do not think it will be profitable and why you see this as a negative thing that Investment U gets the word out. Thank you so much in advance for your response. If any one else has tried this and found it to be phony in any form please explain. I have found then to be straight shooting so far but want any info I can get negative or positive. Thanks…Con

Hi Connie, thanks for your comment. As this post is five months old and doesn’t refer to insider trading I’m a tad puzzled by your question.
As to ITC I have no opinion on whether it will be profitable or not. However, if ITC was such a great story I’d think five months of large scale spruiking by the oxford club and investment U would have been enough to get the share fairly priced. Over the last five months ITC has performed inline with the market. I find their marketing to be anything but straight shooting. People who talk in superlatives about sure fire growth stories are not being straight shooting. Reward is married to risk.
